Houses

Each child is allocated to a House when they join St Bede’s and given a button badge in the appropriate colour. Children meet as a House each morning for prayers and registration, to share news and hear any announcements for the day. This is lead by the House Teacher. Children then return to their Class to start lessons. Each Friday children spend longer in their Houses as the celebrate Collective Worship.

They are:

  • St Aidan
  • St Cuthbert
  • St Hild

Every Friday afternoon the whole school meets for Star Assembly in the hall. Children sit together in their houses and acknowledge birthdays over the week, congratulate others on awards earned and listen to school announcements. Before children are awarded Star of the Week from their teachers, House Point Winners from each class are declared then the House with the most cumulative points for the week is announced. The winning House has their banner placed slightly higher than the others for the following week.

Children meet as a House for specific events throughout the year, notably Sports Day when tensions run high!
