Mini Police

Children in year 5 and 6 are offered the opportunity to become ‘Mini Police’.

Two Mini Police representatives attended the official opening of the new Police Headquarters in Durham. Police HQ was officially opened by HRH Princess Anne who arrived in a helicopter.

The Mini Police formed a guard of honour as she entered the new building while the police band played.

The Mini Police met Mr Ron Hogg, Police and Crime Commissioner for Durham and Mrs Sue Snowdon, HM Lord-Lieutenant of County Durham.

After watching the police dogs apprehend a ‘criminal’ and outrun a ‘horse’ the Mini Police were able to up close to the police helicopter before waving off Princess Anne as she left under police escort.
